My 100 Favourite Albums (In No Particular Order) #1

David Sylvian - Secrets Of The Beehive (1987)

My fixation/facination/obsession with David Sylvian started in December 1986 when i bought my first vinyl Japan record -Oil On Canvas. It was the first time when i "gambled" on a band i thought i might like. WHSmiths in Swansea prob about £6.99. THE VOICE. Never recovered from it. I took my wife to see Sylvian in London in 2001, wonderful, wonderful gig. Encore of "Nightporter", yes, i almost cried. On to this album, one of my all time favourites. I bought it with my pocket money in November 1987 aged 16. A very difficult time for me, my father had just passed away. Whether my liking of the album has anything to do with where i was at that time or not its a fantastic jazzy, quiet, orchestral masterpiece. Love it, love it, love it. Recommended highly. Go on, buy it!!!!

Recommended tracks "Orpheus", "Waterfront" & "September".
